PNG Image Downloads and Printing Tips<\/h2>\n

To download and save a coat of arms image, simply click or tap the download link you will receive from us after ordering. If using Windows, macOS, Linux or similar, simply drag the image from your web browser onto your computer to save it. If using a smart phone or tablet device, you can save the image using the ‘Share’ or ‘Save’ option found in the mobile web browser’s menu or options.<\/p>\n

The transparent PNG images available from this website are of a high quality and can be printed at up to A3 size, which is 420 x 297 mm or 16.5 x 11.75 inches. They can even be printed and displayed just beyond A3 and they will still display similar level of quality.<\/p>\n

Because the PNG image download files are transparent, certain areas within and around the image are ’empty’ or ‘transparent’ so that your own choice of background (i.e. a printed parchment background<\/em>) will appear within these areas. If you use a JPG file, these transparent areas would be white instead of showing a non-white background.<\/p>\n

If you open and view a transparent coat of arms (or family crest<\/em>) PNG image from us, you may see these transparent background areas as black, grey, or anther colour. This is not a problem with your image, it’s just the way many devices show transparent images. <\/p>\n

If you would like a white background<\/em><\/strong>, simply save your .png<\/strong> coat of arms image as a .jpg<\/strong> image using any graphics software<\/em> or image viewer<\/em> capable of saving, exporting or editing images. Alternatively, you can place your PNG coat of arms image onto a white background<\/em><\/strong> and save as a .png<\/strong> file. Please see below regarding different file types (formats).<\/p>\n

Printing<\/h2>\n

These coats of arms images print well on A3 and A4 parchment paper<\/strong>, or any other preferred size below or just above A3<\/strong>. If you need an image to print at a larger size, please contact us with details. Alternatively you can order a higher resolution image (sorry, vector images are not available due to licensing requirements<\/em>) as a non-instant download here<\/strong><\/a>. Simply provide your file or printing size and resolution requirements in the order notes or you can contact us with the details before or immediately<\/strong><\/em> after ordering. <\/p>\n

When printing<\/strong> on a parchment<\/strong> paper, we recommend you print in high quality<\/strong> with a plain paper<\/em> setting.<\/p>\n

You may want to print against your own printed background (i.e. a parchment design or other self-printed background<\/em>) so this can be done using a matt photo paper<\/em><\/strong> (A3, A4, 10 x 8, etc.). In this case we recommend that you print at photo quality<\/em><\/strong> with a photo paper quality setting<\/em>. Although you can use glossy<\/em> or satin<\/em> photo paper, matt<\/strong> normally looks better with these coat of arms images and an ancient<\/em> type background. <\/p>\n

You may want to print onto photo paper using an edge to edge borderless<\/em> setting if supported by your printer. Otherwise, a small white border (approximately 5-6mm<\/em>) will be left around the edge of the paper. This may be hidden underneath a picture frame rim or frame mount.<\/p>\n

Please note<\/strong> that coats of arms images you purchase from us must be downloaded from our server and saved to your own computer or device. The images are not permanently available for download. The download link(s) provided are normally valid for download for a period of 30 days.
